  • Corporate Communications plays a pivotal role in branding the HSRC as a world-class research institution, both internally and externally.
  • Corporate Communications profiles the HSRC as an organisation that conducts collaborative social science research that provides solutions to social problems in South Africa and Africa.
  • It is the nerve centre of the HSRC and it cultivates/promotes collegiality, loyalty and cohesion of various departments.
  • It aims to increase the frequency of media exposure for the HSRC using targeted message and targeted story exposure. Additionally, Corporate Communication’s goals are to build relations with our stakeholders and ensure that the relations with our stakeholders are managed properly and with respect.
  • Corporate Communications heightens public awareness about the HSRC’s key accomplishments and initiatives. Communication helps drive the overall public perception of the HSRC. For that reason, the Corporate Communications Department reports to the CEO.
  • Corporate Communications is the custodian of the HSRC's visual identity. As such, Corporate Communications trains internal stakeholders on the HSRC brand and provides strategic guidance on various aspects of communication.
