Banning sexual violence from the future

Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC)

On an almost daily basis, Jenna-Lee Procter of Rape Outcry deals with the harsh realities of prevailing sexual abuse in the Greater Knysna district, a microcosm of a much deeper and lingering social evil in the wider South African context. Convinced that the status quo can in fact change through awareness, education and the correct support, Procter has developed the programme, Fostering a Sexual Violence-Free Future.

This programme is aimed at providing children with the necessary support to assist in dealing with the thoughts and emotions evoked by any sexual abuse they may have experienced. This is needed for fostering a change in attitude and to preventing further abuse.
