The TB/HIV Care Association is a registered non-profit organisation dedicated to finding and caring for those affected by TB and HIV, and to preventing the spread of these diseases.

As such, it has selected a Z-CARD® – with a slit on the back cover to house a condom – to provide men with post-operative information on how to care for themselves after they have undergone Medical Male Circumcision (MMC).

This is a positive move by the TB/HIV Care Association considering that a recent survey conducted by South Africa’s Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) found that 67% of males use condoms – a decrease from the 2008 figure of 85%. The same survey showed the percentage of the population with HIV had risen from 10.6% in 2008 to 12.2% in 2012.
