Youth development in Africa to take the centre stage at the 2019 AYGS Conference
DATE: 14 March 2019
Emerging scholars from different parts of Africa will meet in South Africa for the 13th annual Africa Young Graduates and Scholars (AYGS) conference to be held at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) Auckland Park Kingsway Campus from 18 to 20 March 2019.
Taking place under the theme, Youth Development in Africa: Challenges, Solutions and the Way Forward, the AYGS 2019 Conference, co-hosted this year by the Africa Institute of South Africa in the HSRC and the Division for Internationalisation at the University of Johannesburg, will explore youth development challenges in Africa based on solicited scholarly papers from emerging academics and researchers from the continent. Participants will include young academics from Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
The 2019 conference will serve as a platform for young scholars, policy makers, and key actors in the development sector to produce and share research-based knowledge about Africa’s developmental challenges.
