Two HSRC researchers receive excellent ratings
The NRF recently finalised researchers’ applications for rating and we are very pleased that two of our colleagues have received excellent ratings as a result of this process.
Professor Ivan Turok received a B1 rating. The B in the rating indicates researchers who enjoy considerable international recognition by their peers for the high quality and impact of their recent research outputs. The 1 indicates that all reviewers are firmly convinced that the applicant enjoys considerable international recognition for the high quality and impact of his/her recent research outputs, with some of them indicating that he/she is a leading international scholar in the field.
Professor Monde Makiwane received a C3 rating. The C in the rating indicates established researchers with a sustained recent record of productivity in the field who are recognised by their peers as having either produced a body of quality work, the core of which has coherence and attests to ongoing engagement with the field and/or has demonstrated the ability to conceptualise problems and apply research methods to investigating them.
Our former colleague Professor Vasu Reddy, now with the University of Pretoria, received a rating of B3.
We are very proud of our colleagues and we celebrate these achievements with them!
