The Mpumalanga Gambling Board is mandated to ensure the suitability of all persons wishing to participate in the gambling industry within Mpumalanga; and ensuring that gambling activities regulated by the MGB are conducted fairly, honestly and free of criminal
influence and exploitation; to ensure that the regulation of gambling is effective and efficient; to render support and advice to the Responsible Member on gambling issues and ensure that the Government's policy on gambling is implemented: to render support to the National Gambling Board of South Africa; to conduct research, with a view to advising Government on the socio-economic impact of gambling within the Province. This report seeks to provide an analysis on the extent to which MGB has been able to align its resources allocated for the 2012/13 financial year in fulfilling the vision, mandate, strategic goals and strategic objectives. The analysis is done against the background of the strategic objectives as stated in the Annual performance plan (2012/13) which are aimed at ensuring the integrity of gambling through efficient regulation of licenced gambling establishments within Mpumalanga province.
