Abstract

While tasked with the collection and provision of relevant and accurate official population census statistics, Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) is committed to ensuring that the privacy of respondents is respected and that their confidentiality is protected. With this in mind, Stats SA is in the process of developing a comprehensive programme of census research to support content and methodology design for Census 2011. The aim of the investigation was to determine the perceptions of potential respondents to the next scheduled national population census in 2011.
