Abstract

The overall aim of this study is to improve the quality of literacy teaching and hence overall academic achievement in Limpopo Province. Of major concern for the Department of Education in Limpopo is poor literacy and numeracy achievement as witnessed in several national and provincial systemic assessments conducted nationally in which grade 3, grade 4 and grade 6 learners have been tested since 1999.
