Abstract

This chapter provides a brief overview of the history of Pretoria, a city in South Africa. It starts off with how Pretoria was 'discovered' by hunters, merchants and missionaries and ends off by detailing the beginning of the processes that relate to the attainment of political independence and economic dependence on South Africa as a national entity.
