Ms Arlene Grossberg manages the operations of the Convening Policy Dialogue Facility (CPDF), which is located in Communications, at the Human Sciences Research Council.

She has worked in the fields of musicology, cultural studies and science communication at the Human Sciences Research Council and has numerous publications to her name including her co-authored publication, Pretoria: A City in Transition (2005),and was one of the researchers involved in the compilation of the Women?s Day 2000 publication "Women marching into the 21st century: wathint' abafazi, wathint' imbokodo", which was presented to President Mbeki at the Union Buildings on 9 August 2000.

She was the first recipient of the Jenny Basson Memorial Prize awarded by the Foundation for Education, Science and Technology for research in 1987. She has participated as a researcher and project leader, and also co-ordinated several international conferences, national and regional workshops and research programmes.
