Ms Angel Bolosha is a Research Assistant in the Inclusive Economic Development (IED) programme of the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC).

Ms Bolosha's research interests lie in understanding the development needs of societies particularly, the geography of economic activity and its effects on individuals and societies at large. Currently, Angel is focusing on understanding the social dynamics of innovation in rural areas.

Angel holds a Bachelor of Town and Regional Planning from the University of Pretoria (UP) which she obtained in 2014. She also holds a Master of Regional Development Studies from Tokyo University, Japan, obtained in 2018.

Before joining the HSRC, Angel worked for the National Department of Rural Development and Land Reform as a Junior Town Planner for more than a year, working on the development of national and local development and land use policy i.e. SPLUMA (Act 16 of 2013). Angel then went on to work for the South African Cities Network as a research assistant, focusing on research that advances an urban transformational agenda.
