Mr Sandile Mthethwa is a PhD Research Trainee in the Inclusive Economic Development (IED) unit at the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC). He is also a second year PhD candidate at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). His research focus is on poverty, food security and its households? vulnerabilities. His PhD project explores households? vulnerabilities to food security and climate change and role of social grants in combating these vulnerabilities.Sandile worked for five years as an Agricultural Economist at the KZN Department of Agriculture. He has also presented two conference papers. He holds both BSc and MSc Agric degrees in Agricultural Economics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
